OUR SERVICES
Serving Jefferson County with Pride
Our volunteers are trained to respond swiftly and effectively to all types of fires — from structure and vehicle fires to grass and wildland incidents. Using modern equipment and proven tactics, we work to protect lives, property, and the environment from fire-related emergencies.
As part of our commitment to the community, Hamshire VFD provides pre-hospital emergency medical care for patients in need. Our certified medics and first responders deliver life-saving treatment, stabilize patients, and coordinate with area hospitals to ensure the highest level of care.
When accidents happen, our team is ready. From vehicle extrications and water rescues to technical rescue support, our trained volunteers use specialized tools and techniques to safely free and assist victims trapped or in danger.
When severe weather, flooding, or other disasters strike Jefferson County, Hamshire VFD stands ready to respond. We assist in storm recovery, debris removal, and emergency response coordination to help restore safety and normalcy to affected areas.
We believe the best emergency is the one that never happens. Hamshire VFD actively promotes fire safety awareness through school visits, community events, and safety demonstrations — teaching families how to prevent fires, plan escapes, and stay safe.
As part of the Jefferson County emergency network, Hamshire VFD provides mutual aid to neighboring departments and agencies. This cooperation ensures fast, effective response across jurisdictions during large-scale incidents or when additional manpower and equipment are needed.
Beyond emergency response, our department participates in community events, local fundraisers, and safety initiatives. From parades and school programs to public demonstrations, we’re proud to serve not only as first responders but as active members of the Hamshire community.
